Snow Today!!

For those of you who didn’t already know, I live in Maryland (about an hour north of Baltimore). We get a decent amount of snow each year. This year, we had been lucky. We barely dodged two snow storms that came through this month and managed to only get a couple inches each time. Which means…we knew this was coming. Last night we got slammed. The weather report was originally just rain, which quickly changed.

The snow started coming down around 6 last night, steady and heavy. Around 7 pm, our power went out. It came back on around 1 am (which was good because it was getting cold!). When we woke up…we saw 12 inches of snow to shovel laying on the ground!

I am writing a post about this because it is the first time in years I have been able to be able to enjoy snow. No, not the shoveling and trying to drive in it…but the beauty of it. I recently took a job with a great boss. If it is not safe to drive, he allows me to have the day off. So this morning, instead of worrying about car accidents and how I will get to work, I just looked outside.

This is what I saw:

Life moves so fast and when you are allowed to slow it down, you realize how small things can be so beautiful. I am so grateful for my boss allowing me to stay in and stay safe. Now it’s time for some hot cocoa and a snow shovel. For those of you who also got snow, enjoy it :)

Richard Solo Product Review

I stumbled upon a company called Richard Solo a few months back on Twitter (@Richard_Solo). They started doing weekly giveaways for their products, and I was lucky enough to win a few. I thought I would let you know how I liked the products. These include products like Flameless Timer Candles and Noise Cancelling Headphones.

The giveaways work like this…You follow @Richard_Solo on Twitter and Retweet the giveaway tweets that are posted. Every 15th retweeter wins. Only the first retweet each day counts. It’s that simple!

To get started, I want to talk about the shipping. Shipping is very fast, I got my products a week after the order/win. I received my candles a few weeks ago. First impression was, they look like normal candles! They are a yellowish tan and they are made of wax. The candles are scented vanilla and I love it! They have a timer on them so you don’t have to worry about A) having a real lit candle in your house B) blowing out the candles before you leave and C) you don’t have to remember to turn the Flameless Candles off, because they do it themselves!

I was surprised to see that they actually gave off the vibe of a real candle. Right down to the flicker of the “flame”. Personally, I like candles that put off a strong aroma so that was a slight letdown for me. Because there is no actual flame, the scent doesn’t fill the room like a regular candle. But all in all, I really enjoy having the candles around the house.

Moving on to the Noise Cancelling Headphones. I didn’t get to try them myself, but my boyfriend did. He had lots to say about them. I gave them to him when he got his new job at a sheet metal company. There was a lot of machinery running all day and he had to have his iPod volume up loud to hear. He put on the headphones and couldn’t believe it. All you have to do is hit a switch to activate the “noise cancelling”. He said when he did that, he could barely hear the machinery…if at all!

I am glad he has them now. I know having the volume up to the maximum level couldn’t have been good on his ears. Now it can be much quitter, and he can actually hear his music.

Out of the products I have received from Richard Solo…I like them all. They have just about everything on the site. They have kitchen stuff, toys and all types of gadgets. I would recommend this company and these products to my friends and family!

My very own BEARPAW Review!

I have always been very fashionable and up to date on all the greatest trends…which is why I was so surprised that I hadn’t tried out BEARPAWS for myself. I have seen women of all ages wearing BEARPAW boots and always thought they looked so cute. I was so pleased when I found out BEARPAW would be willing to work with me to do a review!

A week ago UPS came and delivered BEARPAW boots to me. They came very quickly and I was surprised. When I opened the box I was so excited! Inside was a pair of the VIPER boot in MIDNIGHT BLUE. I was a little iffy on trying the over-the-pants look, let alone with a BLUE boot! I must say….they are adorable! I didn’t realize how many outfits they matched with. They are almost the color of the denim I wear, they just have a sheen to them.

I have been wearing them for over a week and….I LOVE THEM. They are a very sturdy boot and seem to be made very well. Inside, the bottom is lined with sheepskin. Not only did they keep my feet warm, but they also kept my foot comfy! I can see myself wearing these more than any other shoe I have. The only downside of these boots was the sizing. On the BEARPAW site it recommends that you order a size up from your normal size. I wear a 8 ½ and went for the size 9. The boots are a little too big on me, so if you are a half size, I would recommend going a size down. After I did the review, I got a second pair of BEARPAW boots in a size 8 and they fit perfectly!

Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend BEARPAW and their boots. Great service, great company, great boots.

If you want to see more on BEARPAW you can find them on Facebook HERE, on Twitter HERE or you can shop for your own BEARPAWS at www.shop.bearpawshoes.com
